Do you know where your bully lies?
You have one, we all do, at least one. It goes with the territory of our intelligence. A design of evolution to keep one on ones toes. To keep one alert, to keep trying. Your bully, your ego, a necessary evil, helping motivate you to improve, stronger, faster, smarter. We all have a bully, what differs is our ability to listen and learn without compromising our love for self.
That inner bully, The voice that tells you ‘can’t“, “not good enough”
That inner bully, the voice that shrieks at you for every mistake while your friends smile lovingly and pick you up. As often times, one is far more able to stick up for others, its easier to attack the bully within another than it is to attack our own. Safer. For this reason we often show one another compassion where we are afraid to show it to ourselves.
Sometimes we grow so used to our bullies that we lose sight of them. They are in the furniture of our minds, feet kicked up on the desk of our consciousness with a firm alliance with the ego that sits in the office next door. Deeply rooted and part of the infrastructure that we base our whole concept of self on. One cannot see that the bully is separate from oneself.
Do you know where your bully resides?
Can you hear the fabrications and lies?
Can you separate
yourself enough to view,
that the bully is not always,
the true reflection,
