Okay so here is a very odd admission; it is common for me to forget what I have written in a book within 6 months of writing it.
Rehabilitate, Rewire, Recover has been playing on my mind a little due to this. People would email me and thank me for writing it and while I had the general gist of what I wrote I felt I should re-read it in order to be fully up to date … with my own work. Ridiculous I know.
Anyhow, I decided to do just that on my YouTube channel – re-read the book. In doing so, I discovered that, thankfully, I still agreed with 90% of what I had written. Phew. However there were a few things I needed to change. So I wrote a second edition.
I have outlined the changes that I made and the reason behind them in this video.
Hi Tabitha bought your 2nd edition and think it’s even better than the 1st edition. I think the 2nd edition is more authentically you. When I read it I can hear your voice clearly. It’s more direct and this works for me x
Thank you. The older I get the more I learn to give fewer shits about what people think!
Will definitely get second addition!!
I am very interested when you talk about the time it takes to recover. I am a caregiver to 15 year old we are doing FBT and 2.5 years in at this point. We have seen a lot of improvement but some of the ED thoughts and behaviors are still there.
We do follow a “food plan” I know your focus is on adults, but if you had a teen you were helping any thoughts on how long recovery should take? ( we have been told anywhere from 3-7 years!) also should we be doing something other than a food plan?
Trouble with a meal plan is it doesn’t allow for unrestricted eating. If eating totally unrestricted and acting against fear of weight gain recovery should take a matter of weeks. I have the timeline outlined in the second edition 😀
what changes in the second book?
Where can I find the 2nd edition please? I bought your first on Amazon and my mum has been reading it to help support me ???? I was diagnosed 10 years ago and reached my lowest point over the past few years and am seriously hoping to give REAL recovery a go. I love your blog and have found your posts so helpful and so would love to get a copy of your updated book ☺️
It’s on Amazon
