This was so good that I listened to it twice in a row! I would gladly have listened to the longer, uncut version 🙂 I’m looking forward to hopefully more podcasts with Shan in the future, they are so enlightening and helpful!
Really interesting. I would love Shan’s ideas to be looked at by the guys at Sussex University looking at consciousness. Anil Seth has done a fantastic talk on it on youtube looking at how the brain hallucinates. I think Shan and Anil could have a really interesting conversation which I would love to hear.
I have forwarded this to my whole team because I think it really helps with approaching people with eating disorders and understanding where they are. I will be doing more mindfulness and relaxation skills in future. with my clients.
It’s a bit like alcohol addiction in some ways. In early recovery there are two minds . One wants to stop and the other wants the addictive substance. It seems to take approx 2 years minimum off the alcohol for the brain to rewire and reduce the conflict
Thank you so much for this podcast . To me, this of the theory sounds good. I had never body Imageproblem, but I’m always was so scared of eating. I really do hope that the treatment of anorexia will chsngeange. a i have spent years in hospitals, we always work with meal plans. It did not help me to recover at all . i have to learn that I am hungry and that this is okay and I have to respond to this Hangar. I hope that rewiring my brain will be successful. I am a little bit scared that I only binge and gain weight, but that I fail to ReWire my brain. I really want to recover completely, I want to recover old so mentally.
